Golești has always been a place of vision and people who have left something behind. The Golescu boyars laid the foundations of education and culture, and the Brătianu family carried on this legacy, changing the destiny of modern Romania. It was here that Carol I landed, opening a new path for the country, and Carol Davila began his mission to transform Romanian medicine.
These strong roots still inspire us and give us direction. Just as a wine draws its essence from the soil that nourishes it, we too find inspiration in the past, building on it with the same care and respect.

It’s not about complicated, it’s about real.
We’re guided by what the land gives us, a rich, living soil that nourishes the roots deep down, and a climate that ripens the grapes slowly, carefully, until they become just right.
Passion is in everything we do. In spring, we prune the vines by hand to give them room to grow healthy. In the fall, we pick grapes when they’re at their peak, no earlier, no later. Each berry passes through our hands, because we want to be sure that what arrives at the winery is worthy of the name FATHER.
Once picked, the grapes are gently crushed to preserve their soul. Fermentation is controlled, in stainless steel vats, to bring out the clean flavors, the red fruit and blackcurrant in Cabernet Sauvignon, the citrus freshness in Sauvignon Blanc.
Then, some of the wine goes into oak barrels, where it sits for a few months, learning to be round, warm, with those fine notes of vanilla or smoke that you feel in the glass. Everything is supervised. When it’s ready, we bottle it with care, and the cork seals our promise: quality that comes from these hills.
We are in Ștefănești, the heart of Argeș, a place where vines have been growing for centuries, on a land that has always been generous. From Mircea the Elder, who saw the richness of these lands, to the Ștefănești Viticultural Institute and the Goleștilor Hill, where each harvest carries on a living legacy.
I visited the winery for a tour and a wine tasting in English (accompanied by foreign tourists), and the experience was wonderful! To better understand the story of the area, the first stop was at the Golesti Museum. It’s worth every minute spent here, a special place. For those from “Dealul Golestilor”, only words of praise. Really professional people. The tour was well organized, our guide extremely passionate and knowledgeable, and the wine tasting was simply spectacular. I warmly recommend this winery to all wine lovers and history enthusiasts.
